Bounce the checks and Crack the House.and a Hobbit
my posting is again interrupted like it has been 2 times before
I found out today that at Bank of America it costs the same overdraft fee if you bounce a $100,000 check as if you bounce a $35 check - somehow I bet the $35 fee means more to the perosn who writes checks for $35 than for the person who writes checks for $100,000 - I would wonder if the bouncing fees and overdraft fees could be related to the amount by which a person goes over the account or how big the check was - have the fee be a percentage of the check - even scaled for really large checks - I think that would be fairere than current system - I know why it doesn't happen - everyone wants the business of the person who can write a $100,000 check
Could house districts be not be centered in one place - the senate suffers from a little corruption that Senators only represent one place or one state - but they are much better than the house - could it be done by area codes of phones or half rural and half urban constituency for house members so that only in cases where a state has one congressional seat does a house member have a contiguous district - could eavch congressperson have two districts that are of different character - I guess what I really want is complete mixing in a state's population - not even that - I would the Congress to better represent the whole country and the House just egregious cares only about its little slice and that causes bad bills and bad defense contracts to go through - and changing the formula for at least house representation would stop narrow interests from winning over larger ones - It would depend on the state - could each state do one of two things - form twice or three times as many political districts -sectors as congresspeople and then by random draw every 10 years assign each congressperson 2 or three of them - not necessarily contiguous - no more I just represent New York City and Pittsburgh - it's not a good thing - nor is the resulting polarization. Or do it by social security - either last digit or last two digits in a state are used to designate which congressperson represents you - for state assemblies - house may work better - unsure - but the federal has just gotten ridiculous - and it's time to correct that - people will still have a congressperson - but with luck there will be less of - I can't make a good political decision because I represent the wrong area and it will stop my election. - I am sure democrats will see this as an attempt to destroy their city power - the cities will have influence over more congresspeople, but yes this is designed to get more moderates who don't always side for or against any piece of legislation into office
them's fightin' words - interesting show on UNC-TV - no matter how many phds or powerful politicians on a side - in certain cases their are certain forces that unless you are in their you really should stand down - there was a game - Marvel super heroes - they have two characters in it - death and eternity - they never have a direct battle in the Universe becasue using their full power would destroy the universe - that's if both opponents are equal - in Middle Earth - there is Eru and the Valar - copied from African myth - but they far outclass Sauron and Gandalf in power and can reshape the world if they get invovled - the other side always seems to mistake this as weakness that the valar stay out of the conflict and select Gandalf as their rep - sort of if you read closely help is always available for the main characters when they need it - and at critical moments things turn their way and the other side is always fated to lose and blusters about its power - not realizing that the people with the real power have already decided how the campaign will turn out and that any guns or weapons of a physical nature or any other weapons of the other side are not on the same plane as what the Valar can do - the Valar just don't want to wreck the world in the process.
you all can fight out the ideology for the Iraq War yourselves - I may say something later - but curious to hear some of the justifications for positions without commenting for a time
