Lawyers are a poor second to Doctors in pay in the Us and Veternarians share similar skills sets and get half what a doctor makes and there is a much higher ratio of Veternarian to dog and cat than to Doctor to people – there are many more doctors for people than vets for pets who can be operated on. The question is do we get better healthcare by having a doctor monitor us Also the Indian story on the tiger and protecting it at all costs. For some reason found that very revealing. Most of my actions if not all of them currently occur only with the approval of someone else. Threats are very ugly things and the world would be best if they did not turn to reality and those no need for them to as most who have power use it with reservation. Killing anyone who wants to kill a tiger and shooting them without waiting for them to shoot were the words in the story mentioned above. ------ Orphaned Children Orphaned children needing a family and growing up poorly in the current youth services of the country without a family – I said that currently families are the best thing for children and only in the future will the necessary social relationships develop to allow for a kid to have the security that a family provides without maybe the issue of extreme prejudices which a family can also provide. The therapists and counselors of the state system in my opinion do not have the best methodology. It sounded like in some cases a 14 year old girl needed to wait a few years before having the responsibility of being a mother – perhaps for now there is a greater need to encourage more people to adopt children though I think this will not be an ultimate solution. What was in the story that I think could develop into a support network for orphaned kids – is the way other people could take over some of the role of parenting – that doesn't currently exist strongly anywhere in our society right now – that is what needs to develop – how to let that happen – how can a random stranger contribute to a childs life as a volunteer? - No structure for that. An expert should not in most cases be able to keep a child away from a parent permanently – I know this seems contradictory from what I said earlier – as the role of parent or responsibility of parenting changes – I hope from a family based system to a community based system – this part will be messy. When is a parent no longer fit to be a parent? - It's messy right now – And the current psycho babble and putting kids on medication who deal with that value system common in social workers where medication is the right answer is a problem right now. While currently I guess it makes sense for youth services to be able to take away a child – the child should have the ability to move back in with the parent at the child's discretion over the age of 7 unless the child is incapable of thought or the parent has used the child in criminal activity or some other obvious sign that the parent does not have the child's welfare at heart and does not intend to help the child become a productive citizen. By age of ten or something like that - I would like any child to have the right to leave their parents and opt for the government as a parent and them to have the right to control how much contact their parents have. Most parents won't want their children to be able to judge their parenting skills in that manner, but some ability for a child to control his or her life is not in my opinion the worst thing. This will mean the child will always opt for being spoiled and can blackmail the parents. Only while it is important socially to be seen as a good parent is that true and maybe the child will realize that being spoiled isn't the best thing. I would like experts moved into an advisory role though where possible and the child be given control of where they live from a relatively early age. The mechanism for this will need worked out as it should not just be a simple - I want to leave parent and then go thing, but that door should be open. Children aren't stupid and can figure if they're being taken care of. Hippies and right wing people home school and I have examples in both cases where this turns out bad and I guess feel isolating pieces of society off is not a good thing which is what homeschooling does. I don't see the positives outweighing the negatives, if there are special children with handicaps or special talents, as much as possible their lives should be normalized and they should be in a public school so that everyone gets used to everyone else. Forgot what I wanted to add just after that – oh yes if the public school does a poor job doing education which it does then it needs to be fixed instead of letting many students get a substandard education because of issues in school politics. -----Torture and Mind Control For the group who asked as stated previously ot others, I do not think a complete ban on torture for a government makes loigcal sense as there are instances where there are high stakes and torture can potentially save lives and it should be kept as a tool open to government. How a government uses that tool reflects on a government's character and I think it should be a last resort or used only in the most extreme places. Using torture or for that matter coercion as a societal control is not something I would condone. You will not have a viable society in the long run if you cannot satisfy the goals of the populace and if much of the populace is held in silence by force, abuse of leadership becomes problematic, as does the ability to development the people in society who are stuck on the things for which they are oppressed. We could talk about the use of mind control or adjusting a person's behavior via outside influence which may go on. I look at how the anger inside of me has faded from 13 to 18 and till now and wonder if that wasn't helped along a little. How do you calm a rape victim or a burn victim or a torture victim? The natural healing process for the mental health can take quite a while. If there were a way to adjust a person so for a little they functioned more normally would that be such a bad thing until they healed enough maybe with help to become a productive individual of society and get past their trauma. Again I have written in logic I hope that if you explore the ramifications of completely dominating people's will and having slave like zombies which is the classic example of mind control then you continue to have the insect example where if you kill the queen the hive can die and there is no way to select a new leader. In insects a new queen can be found through instincts of the colony to create one. In mind control no such instinct exists and zombies don't get to learn from failure and get the experience needed to take command. So in its most destructive use, it just isn't logical to use mind control that way – you're society will collapse. The current debate would be on how much you can adjust” a person as the idea of freedom of speech and the more important – the idiots who protest and feel wronged generally can see something that doesn't quite work in society even if they don't express well or act on it well and you don't really want them wiped out long term it's bad for society. The other use of mind control that is postulated by some is to use it to increase fear and tension and allow a government to extend its control over people. If having the ability to see a theoretical telepath combat teaches anything, it's this: in a telepath any emotion or anything about you you want to hide is a weakness a telepathic opponent can use to exploit you and break your will and win the contest. If you don't like to fail and can't accept failure – you can be forced to fail until your will breaks – you have to be able to endure yourself failing. Being uncomfortable about sex about any aspect of who you are – these are all fair weapons in a battle of wills – it's very nasty – but if that trickled into society – there is no room for lying as you can't lie with someone who can read your mind – unless you can prevent the mind reading. Many of the societal illusions that occur would have to be confronted if some of this got into general society. Much of it may be at too fast a pace. To finish the point if people are adjusted to be afraid and anxious around say law enforcement or of prominent political leaders – the society will not fix its internal problems well and again it will less sustainable over the long term. You will not create the strongest society with extensive of mind control to break dominate or prevent other people from expressing themselves. For survival's sake, mind control as a way to hold society together does not work as an outside factor can then hit at societal weaknesses and bring the house of cards down. If used in a helpful way to benefit society, its use must be limited way only – a person with free choice and will is necessary if that person is to be brought into their strongest form which should be the objective of any society. -----Cosmetics In this modern age of woman and men I guess I was wondering if anyone wanted to confront the cosmetics industry. If a goal of woman is to be judged on success and we agree that that should be based on merit then why are plastic surgery and cosmetics flourishing? I was in the make up isle the other day at a convenience store and was tring to put back a pen of liner that fell on the floor – there were five different types of black in addition to other colors each with special properties – the cosmetic system for makeup looks more complex than integral calculus. I thought we were supposed to be moving away from covering things up and needing to use enhancement in that sense. People should be in general less afraid of who they are and I would definitely like to not see my own mother take half an hour of valuable time each day - “putting on her face” - to “feel good” about herself. I have no such requirement and have stated in other places why I think spending on time on appearance is wasted. Makeup tends to be toxic and is not necessary. Certain things like deorderant have their practical function, but even with some of these would like to examine the effect of having unnatural odors in the air. Would makeup disappear? I've worn pancake or foundation and eyeliner and lipstick many times – and possibly will in the future. It's staple in acting and theater that everyone wears makeup and probably in television makeup won't disappear. Illusion can be fun, but it's done in a fun sense and not as a habit like coffee where your drinking something that doesn't do you a whole lot of good, that's how I look at a daily application of makeup. There was a cartoon book out on the Mary Kay Commandos by a certain author if such exist wanted to state my opinion so that they may join the other parties I have to worry about if they choose that path.
